Blog Pic ShelterBox is a disaster relief charity based in Cornwall in the UK. They have 10 international affiliate programmes dotted around the world.

ShelterBox responds instantly to earthquake, volcano, flood, hurricane, cyclone, tsunami or conflict by delivering boxes of aid.

The Shelter Box
Only new equipment is used and is carefully selected for durability, practicality and suitability for where it's needed. Tough, lightweight and waterproof, the box itself can have many useful functions from food container to cot. Shelterbox work with a range of suppliers to produce each box.

Each box is packed at ShelterBox HQ in Cornwall, England. Depending on the location and nature of the disaster the contents of the box may vary but each box typically contains what you see in the picture.

Shelter

At the heart of every ShelterBox is a disaster relief tent for a family of up to 10 people. It is custom made for ShelterBox by Vango, one of the world’s leading tent manufacturers, and is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, high winds and heavy rainfall. Internally, each tent has privacy partitions that allow recipients to divide the space as they see fit.
