Golfers rush to find accommodation for 2010 Ryder cup
So your Ryder cup pass has arrived in the post but have you left it too late to book accommodation? Every hotel, B&B and even the University Halls of residence are full of Ryder cup visitors. The answer is simple. Get your tent out. With prices starting at £5 per person per day there is no need to pay over the odds to stay close to one of golf’s biggest tournaments. The compulsory park and ride scheme means you can’t walk to the event and so why not stay in some beautiful countryside nearby.Geoff Vaughan from the campsite booking website, Campingninja.com, said, “There is plenty of room out there at some fantastic campsites. You can book a site through us in an amazing place in the Forest of Dean only a 12 mile drive from the course itself. We have ones even closer still”. Geoff Vaughan a keen golfer himself said, “This is such a fantastic event for the region in general and it would be great if everyone could benefit from this tournament. The organisers have set in place a strict park and ride policy meaning no-one can enter the event on foot. This adds to the idea of staying out in the beautiful Forest of Dean or the Brecon Beacons for the duration”.As the excitement builds so does the realisation that most places are fully booked or charging over the odds. If that’s the case, bring the tent or caravan down, make a weekend of it and stay in a stunning location while watching the world’s best golfers battle it out over the 3 days.To find out your perfect campsite and make a booking on-line check out www.campingninja.com or simply click here.Editor's Notes
Campingninja was founded by Geoff Vaughan and Rhian Evans (they love camping) in September 2009. The Campingninja idea was born from frustration when trying to find and book campsites themselves.
Campingninja won the TTG’s “The Big Idea” Competition (a Dragon's Den Style travel industry prize where they were competing with 32 other businesses for the investment from four travel entrepreneurs) in September 2009.
Campingninja was established with the goal of enabling as many people as possible to easily find and book a campsite online, mirroring the customer experience people have when booking other types of accommodation, such as hotels, hostels and B&Bs. This type of service has not been available to campers or campsites until now.
Campingninja allows all campsites, large and tiny, to have a level playing field and platform to sell their pitches – no set up fees or advertising costs or advantages for those with bigger budgets. It's all about giving campers a real choice.
Campingninja is supported by various tourism organisations including Visit Cornwall, South West Tourism, Northamptonshire Enterprise, Visit Peak District and the Green Business Tourism Scheme.
Campingninja is even supported by a ninja who camps around the UK representing us – people love him!
