Camping near a National Park - where are they in the UK?

Blog Pic According to the National Parks organisation, (and they should know) a National Park is an area which is protected because of its cultural heritage, beautiful countryside and wildlife.

The first 4 National Parks were recognised in 1951 and consisted of Dartmoor, Snowdonia, the Peak district and the Lake District. Today we have 15 in total with the latest addition becoming officially recognised in 2010, the South Downs.


2 in Scotland: The Trossachs and the Cairgorms & Loch Lomond.


It is National Parks week from the 26th July 2010 - 1st August 2010. There is a whole host of activities and events going on and you can find out more through the National Parks organisation. Event calendar
