Sir Walter Scott visited the Trossachs and, blown away by its beauty, penned the world famous poem in 1810, the Lady of the Lake, which has inspired this innovative first time event which is named after the first Canto of the poem called, The Chase.
The Chase: A 30-40 mile off-road duathlon combining two 12 mile cycling stages and a 6 to 10 mile orienteering challenge on foot. Earn bonus time with special checkpoints and challenges before free food, drink and entertainment at the medieval-style after event party.
The Wee Chase: A fun, family adventure combining 6-7 miles of cycling, with an orienteering exploration on foot. Visit checkpoints to earn bonus points and complete special challenges, before returning to the medieval style post-event party to celebrate with friends, family and fellow adventurers.
For racers and non-racers alike Back in Callander participants and spectators will gather together at the end of the race for a medieval themed party to celebrate the completion of The Chase. Food, drinks, re-enactments from the poem and entertainment will forge to create a night to remember.

Findon Sheep Fair and Country Festival

10-11 SeptemberOriginating in 1251 Findon Festival is one of the longest running country fayres and well worth a visit for a taste of a classic village festival.
Friday Night begins with a funfair on the green then rock and roll dance and curry in the marquee.
Saturday is the fair itself, with craft stalls, sheep displays, dog show and other displays on the green.
