Highertown Farm Campsite is a small, basic campsite with fine views of the South East Cornwall coast. A pleasant 3/4 mile walk from a secluded beach, the campsite and Lansallos are set next to a stunning coastal landscape that is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Our rangers may be out and about when you arrive, so always take a look at the information board at the entrance to the camping field for where to pitch up as there are no set pitches and remember to respect your neighbours when setting up.
Highertown is mainly for tents, so if you bring a campervan or small caravan, please be aware that the site is down small country lanes.
Our hot water for showers and washing up is fed by 20 pences, so be sure to bring a stash with you.
Electric hook-ups are available on a first come, first served basis, to pay an extra £3 per night when you're here, but we've got eight hook-ups, so there are plenty to go around.
The site is really low key, so we rely on campers reading the notice boards for important information and our full T&Cs are on our web page here www.nationaltrust.org.uk/article-1356397763990. The ranger's mobile phone number is on the chalkboard by the barn too if you need them.
Great activities / places of interest within walking distance
The campsite is ideal for couples, families and individuals who want a quiet rural campsite with close access to the South West Coast Path and the beautiful beaches and coves of Lantivet and Lantic Bays. It is also within striking distance of the coastal villages and towns of Polperro, Fowey and Looe and attractions of Lanhydrock, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Why not join Martin Dorey's '2 minute beach cleans'? www.facebook.com/2minutebeachclean. We can all do this, and probably we do it already without thinking.
Great activities / places of interest a little further afield
Why not try out the cycle trails at Lanhydrock or go on a boat trip from Polperro round to Looe or Mevegissey?
