Campsite Description

Campsite overview

Lairhillock is a small, friendly, family owned and run touring park for ADULTS ONLY. The park is set in a quite secluded area of outstanding beauty with its rolling hills meandering rivers and is an ideal base for exploring this attractive and interesting area. We are located down a private lane just off the A423 on the outskirts of Marton village between Coventry and Southam. We extend a warm welcome and look forward to seeing you.

Great activities / places of interest within walking distance

Very nearby there are bridle paths, attractive canal tow paths and a disused railway line which are all great for walking.

The village of Marton is a short walk from the park, where there is a local pub (which is also an Indian restaurant), and a "Museum of Country Bygones". Marton village church was founded back in 1292. It was rebuilt in 1869 following a devastating fire. The building is dedicated to St Esprit and is thought to be unique in the British Isles. There are also preserved medieval bridges.

Two and a half miles away is the village of Long Itchington which has a small general store, a Co-Op, a Post Office and a hairdressers.

Birdingbury village is also only a couple of miles away.

Great activities / places of interest a little further afield

The market town of Southam (4 miles away) has many facilities, e.g. pubs, small supermarkets, hairdressers, Post Office and other shopping outlets, a swimming pool and several take-aways. Southam is an old cattle driving stop between Wales and London. Charles I stayed in the town before the Battle of Edghill in 1642. St James Church has a handsome timber roof, octagonal spire and 14th centry tower. The town also boasts Dallas International Polo Ground.
