Campsite Description

Campsite overview

Weymouth College is offering great value camping for only £10 per night for adults and £5 for children, during the Olympic Games. The college is situated on the Jurassic coastline, less than 1 mile from the best viewing spot in town for the Olympic and Paralympic sailing! Weymouth College is run in association with Redlands Community Sports Hub, which is less than a 30 minute walk from the college. The College, which hosts a range of sports facilities will be our primary site for the Olympic sailing, and Sports Hub for the Paralympic sailing.

OPEN FOR THE OLYMPICS: 25 JUL - 15 AUG
BEFORE THE OLYMPICS AND BEFORE THE PARALYMPICS - REDLANDS COMMUNITY SPORTS HUB IN WEYMOUTH IS OPEN AND BOOKABLE ON CAMPINGNINJA

We limit the tent size on our grass pitches to 4mx4m, or an equivalent of 16m² or less. Alternatively you can pay an extra £5 per night for a larger tent.

We also have Pre-erected tents available to rent. These tents are set up and ready for your arrival. Please note that sleeping bags and mattresses are not provided. Just the tent. The Pre-erected tents are for up to 4 people with 2 separate sleeping areas. The cost is £25 a night plus the per person charges above.

There will be access to toilets and hot showers, as well as the sports facilities, bar and lots of green space great for continuing the sporting action!

Lewis Stripp, General Manager at Weymouth College, comments: “We are really excited about being involved in the games, we have been involved in several legacy projects already and this is another great opportunity to capitalise on the games and invest in facilities that will benefit the wider community! Weymouth has a fantastic atmosphere during the summer and the addition of the Olympics and Paralympics this year will really add to the buzz!”

Great activities / places of interest within walking distance

The College is only a stones throw from Nothe Fort, the viewing point for the Olympic sailing and there are regular buses running to the Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy, which is 3 miles further down the coast and where the races commence.

The Town Centre is also less than a 20 minute walk, so on the days when you don’t have tickets you can enjoy Weymouth beach where there will be lots of extra activities and cultural events taking place during the games and in the evenings there is a vast array of bars and restaurants along the bustling harbour to keep you entertained! This site is perfect for families or groups of friends who are also keen to enjoy some of Weymouth’s seaside attractions as well as the games!

Great activities / places of interest a little further afield

There are many historic sights scattered across Weymouth and beyond, which boast some of the most picturesque scenery in the country. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, a sight of outstanding natural beauty, is only a 30 minute drive away and is well worth a visit. Also at Poole's natural harbour, less than an hours drive from Weymouth, there are many activities and blue flag beaches to enjoy!
