Campsite Description

Campsite overview

Wodson Park is offering great value camping for only £10 per night for adults and £5 for children, during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Wodson Park is situated in Ware on the Lea Valley Cycle Path, only 8 miles from the 2012 Olympic Canoe Slalom in Waltham Cross, and 30 minutes on a direct train to the Olympic Park. This campsite is perfect for ticket holders or volunteers who are keen to enjoy more spacious facilities off the main visitor route, particularly those who wish to cycle directly to the canoe events!

OPEN FOR THE OLYMPICS: 26 JUL - 14 AUG
OPEN FOR THE PARALYMPICS: 28 AUG - 11 SEP

We limit the tent size on our grass pitches to 4mx4m, or an equivalent of 16m² or less. Alternatively you can pay an extra £5 per night for a larger tent.

Wodson Park offers free parking to all campers as well as free hot showers and toilet facilities. We have loads of green space here at Wodson Park and have dedicated areas for families and non-family campers.

Campers at Wodson Park are welcome to use our Bar and cafe, serving cold beverages, alcohol, hot drinks and food. Also as well as acres of green space campers for both the Olympics and Paralympics are welcome to use our fitness suite and classes, indoor courts, soft play area, creche, play scheme and 400m running track - (additional cost to be paid on arrival).

Wodson Park is extremely excited about hosting a campsite during the London 2012, Jan Stock General Manager, comments; “This is fantastic opportunity for us to get involved in the Olympic and Paralympic games, we host the Special Olympics each year and we are keen to be as involved as we can be! We run such a huge range of sports and activities for a number of local teams and residents within the community and the revenue generated will go a long way in extending our facilities for all!”

Great activities / places of interest within walking distance

Wodson Park facilities have been used for International Basketball to 24hr race walking, and each year the venue hosts the Special Olympics - a fantastic accolade. Boasting excellent indoor and outdoor facilities this site has plenty to entertain the kids! Ware town centre is also less than a mile away, so there are excellent local amenities and for the days when you don't have tickets getting into Central London or out into rural Herfordshire is easy too!
